Un Litro de Agua
The Un Litro de Agua project premise is to initiate and support dialogue between Colombia and New Zealand through a series of collaborative arts events.
The Un Litro de Agua project is in process, developed by Number 8 Collective from Aoteroa – New Zealand. Stage one is a curated show of New Zealand artists work that explore the thematic of water with an emphasis on developing a dialogue between Colombian and New Zealand artists through a combined exhibition planned for 2013. The intent is to explore similarities and differences between cultures around water metaphorically, environmentally, socially and collective memory.
Un Litro de Agua explores linkages and differences – environmentally and socially between Colombia, South America and Aotearoa New Zealand's waterways and rivers. Rio de Medellin, running through the city of Medellin, has had a considerable injection of resources over the last decade in an attempt to return the river into a healthy state and change attitudes towards its use. Aotearoa New Zealand has comparable histories around river rejuvenation and river resource allocation.
This is one aspect of a larger body of work being undertaken by Number 8 Collective while based in residency at Casa Tres Patios, Medellin, Colombia.
